Fertility and Endocrine Associates is delighted to share that Lauren Slone, APRN, WHNP/FNP has joined our practice as Nurse Practitioner. She will work alongside fertility specialists Miriam Krause, M.D., and Tiffany Justice, M.D., to provide world-class infertility care, helping patients across the region to conceive their family dreams.
Lauren’s outstanding qualifications make her an ideal fit for our growing practice. She has dual master’s of science degrees in women’s health and family practice, along with 14 years of experience providing women’s healthcare, primary healthcare and pediatric nursing care to underserved areas of Louisville and surrounding counties.
Lauren’s friendly face might seem familiar to our returning patients. That’s because she previously served as our Third-Party Reproduction Coordinator (oocyte donation, embryo donation and gestational carrier selection) from 2014 until 2020.
She also has personal experience with infertility — she has premature ovarian and failure and underdeveloped uterus as a result of cancer treatments when she was a child. Lauren and her husband have one beautiful son thanks to an egg donor and a gestational carrier, with a daughter on the way this fall via another surrogate.
“We could not be more pleased that Lauren is joining us as a full-time provider,” says Dr. Krause. “Her skills as a specialty nurse practitioner are only matched by her compassion for patients who are facing what is often an emotional and challenging journey. Dr. Justice and I know we can rely on her to provide them with not only the best medical care, but exceptional emotional support as well.”
“I am so thankful and excited for the opportunity to return to Fertility and Endocrine Associates as a full-time nurse practitioner,” says Lauren. “Our family has been blessed beyond measure by the practice, and I’m thrilled to spread that joy and love around. I believe my passion for infertility care, along with my knowledge both as a patient and provider, makes this a perfect partnership. I feel blessed to care for our patients and cannot wait to celebrate each child with them.”
Lauren holds her Infertility Nursing Certification through American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Infertility Nursing, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and CNMs, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
Fertility and Endocrine Associates was founded in 1991 as Women’s Specialty Center, and is the oldest private infertility practice and in vitro fertilization center in Kentucky. We’re proud of how our practice continues to grow and evolve along with the ever-changing specialty of reproductive endocrinology, and we are thrilled to have Lauren back on our team!
